WebReady is designed to work without a visitor account. This policy explains the limited information involved when the service is used.
Information processed
When a scan is requested, WebReady processes the public website address entered by the visitor and retrieves the publicly available page, response headers, robots.txt, and sitemap.xml. Public HTML may be sent to the Nu HTML Checker for standards validation. If advanced performance analysis is configured, the address may also be sent to Google PageSpeed Insights. WebReady does not ask for a name, password, or payment information to run a free scan.
Technical logs
The hosting platform may keep short-lived technical logs such as request time, browser information, network address, error details, and requested pages for security, reliability, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting. Do not submit a private or secret URL.
Advertising and cookies
If advertising is enabled, an advertising provider such as Google may use cookies, device identifiers, or similar technology to select, deliver, measure, and protect ads. Consent choices may be presented where required. Visitors can use browser controls and provider settings to manage cookies and personalized advertising.
Partner links
Some links may be affiliate links. A partner may record that a visitor arrived from WebReady and may pay a commission if the visitor later makes a qualifying purchase. Partner sites have their own privacy policies.
Retention and sharing
WebReady does not create a customer profile from a scan. Technical information may be retained as necessary for service security and aggregate performance analysis. Information may be shared with infrastructure, analytics, scanning, standards-validation, and advertising providers only for operating and funding the service, or when required by law.
Questions and changes
This policy may change as the service and its providers change. The effective date above will be updated. A contact method will be added before public advertising is activated.
