Fix the largest downloads first
Large hero photographs and autoplay video are common starting points. Resize images to the displayed dimensions, compress them, and use a modern format. Provide responsive image sizes so a phone does not download the desktop version.
Reduce third-party competition
Chat widgets, review badges, scheduling tools, trackers, maps, and social embeds all add network requests and script work. List each one, identify the business purpose, and remove what is no longer earning its place. Load lower-priority tools after the main content when practical.
- Keep fonts and font weights limited.
- Cache stable assets for returning visitors.
- Avoid redirect chains on primary landing pages.
- Reserve layout space for images and embeds.
Measure the page people actually enter
Test important service and campaign pages, not only the homepage. Compare the same mobile page before and after a change. If a score varies slightly but the main content appears sooner and the layout stays stable, the work still produced a useful improvement.
